Kara Donahue founded The Beach Edit, the luxury swim shop, in 2018. The Florida-raised, longtime sun lover spent most of her free time at the beach. It wasn’t until, as an adult, she began seeking the perfect bikini and discovered that there was an array of fresh, new designers creating amazing swimwear that she wasn’t seeing in her local surf shops. After spending years working in the corporate world she decided to pursue her passion and set out to curate unique, luxurious swimwear collections in one place.

She believes in only offering pieces made from premium fabrics, with original, modern styles. While daring swimwear has become her signature, Kara continues to expand her brand offerings. She is inspired by confident women who love their bodies and have an appreciation for style, health, and adventure. Kara lives and works in Jacksonville, Florida with her longtime boyfriend Matthew and their rotund chihuahua Petey.
